Places to visit & things to do along the way

Sandbanks Beach is undoubtedly the BEST beach on the South Coast of England. Some would even say in Britain!

Sandbanks itself is a small peninsula, which contains some of the most expensive houses and land in the country. In fact Sandbanks is becoming as famous for its well know residents and lavish lifestyles of some of its occupants as it is for its beach.

One of the most famous and unique attractions of Sandbanks is the Sandbanks Chain Ferry, which shuttles between Sandbanks and Studland crossing at the mouth of Poole harbour.

Canford Cliffs is a natural and tranquil area, situated between Shore Road and Branksome Chine beaches.

It has Blue Flag status, with sandy cliffs and picturesque wooden huts, making Canford Cliffs a popular choice for locals. It is within walking distance of Canford Cliffs village, which offers a range of restaurants and local shops.

Compton Acres is recognised as one of the most important ornamental gardens in England.

Constructed in 1920 by Mr Thomas Simpson, today, Compton Acres is still acknowledged as one of the finest privately owned gardens in England. Enjoy over 10 acres of horticultural heaven, relax in our charming Café & Tea Rooms, browse the treasures in our Gifted Moment store or delve into the exciting world of plants within our Plant Centre.

Poole

Poole is a bustling tourist resort in the east of Dorset and is well known for Europe’s largest natural harbour, award winning blue flag beaches including the world famous Sandbanks Beach, a bustling quayside and a beautiful historic old town.

Nestled between Bournemouth, the Isle of Purbeck and the Jurassic Coast, Poole is a fantastic base for exploring the rest of Dorset.
